Peter and Frank are right. Unless some new evidence emerges. In any case, even if TV cameras were present there were no transmissions. There are stories of the Ally Pally studio kit being run up later in the war, but again no public transmissions.

I suspect what they meant that some performances were filmed by the newsreel companies.
