Hi Adam.
If you run the filament at the rated max it shortens life but I've made things with these valves over the years and have never had a failure the little pantry transmitter has been running for around two years constant with no issues, my Pye record player has a rod pentode preamp and its also reliable. I run the filaments at 1.05 to 1.1v which is the key.
