Then EE isn't broadband.
Also the capacitor and bell wire is going back to prehistoric pulse dials and electromechanical bells so that the other extensions didn't tinkle when you dialled! AFAIK no-one else does that either.
Argos in Ireland used to give a free RJ11 to BT adaptor (with the master socket cap in it) because all the phones etc they sold had BT plugs.
