That comment made me chuckle.
My wife is Kenyan and her dad lives just outside Nyahururu which is on the equator, I think I'll send him a Russian rectifier and get him to test it both sides of the equatorial line. I know that even within 3 meters of the line water will spin the opposite direction down a pipe even at that short distance from the line, so that's good enough for me!
