My thoughts as well. I was a bit surprised that I could find the Spartan 3, but Digikey shows 5700pcs in stock for $17.50 while I show I was paying $10.50 so not a terrible increase. I was more surprised to still find the TI video decoder available. When was the last time anyone designed in an analog decoder? It's still shown as an active part on the TI website.
Overall I think most of the parts, or substitutes could be found. We are having the most difficulty with common parts like SOT voltage regulators. We recently had a $0.31 part that we could not find in stock anywhere so we went to brokers for a quote. The best quote we got was $136, and that's not a misprint. The DAB receiver part we use is around $8 from the factory but unavailable. Brokers want over $100.
