The important thing is to ensure the set is properly packed, the legs need to be removed and there is proper support around the back cover and where the end of the CRT is more vulnerable. Many have no idea how to pack a TV and that's why so many arrive in pieces. My advice is to collect it yourself especially if bought from an unknown person.
