Yes, while the Internet works well while everyone is playing happy families, when they don't it's broadcast AM which is the easiest way to reach everyone.
One problem is that decent AM performance seems to be lacking in many modern radios - it's just added as an afterthought.
But, human ingenuity will no doubt blossom in times of crisis! Let's hope so, just as I hope and pray for a speedy end to this appalling event.
