With today's housing stock if it is not a brand new place a terrace is not too bad as long as the homes on both sides are occupied.
The council have been putting some grey stuff with render over it on the ones they own.
Doing the damp is not too bad if the original damp course can be restored.
The damp around the edges of windows can also be fixed with inside cladding that looks like an old style lintel and frame.
The trouble with the new places it that many are being built on flood planes.
