The chassis is in good condition, up to now it has just had a wipe over to remove dust and a bit of crud, it does not appear to be soaked in nicotine tar. It will only get a wipe over with a acetone wetted cloth and brush.
What is disappointing with the underneath of the chassis, is the state of the wiring, not that it is crumbling but it is generally a mess using point to point wiring that does not follow any particular path, some longer than needed. I should have taken a picture before I removed the main smoothing block,. This os one of the main reasons why this little project keeps getting put back on the shelf.
