I passed the car driving test in 1963 on the first attempt, I had a motor bike licence earlier. I took the test in Teddington. My first car was a second hand Ford Prefect but it was very unusual as it had been modified for a diver with one leg , and the clutch was operated by pushing a knob at the top of the gear lever.
The windscreen wipers were not electric but vacuum powered and not very reliable.
It did not have a radio but a Roberts R200 on the back window shelf worked well enough exept you had to stop driving to reach back and change stations.
