That's beautiful work, Col. Myself and a friend are going into carpentry as a business and slowly setting ourselves up (we're still on the tool buying stage at the moment, so are still having to use many of the schools' tools- set up costs certainly aren't cheap!) in the hope craftsmanship won't die out with our generation. Your ingenuity with every project you undertake is fantastic and obviously comes with a wealth of experience, something I hope to have one day!

Have you ever considered building a proper Router table? We are considering this as a worthwhile tool and with the cost of a secondhand router being low are even thinking about having one permanently mounted in a table and one to remain portable.

If you ever want to sell your combination machine let me know :D A thicknesser is one of those tools we really need but costs a considerable amount of money (we're not even shopping for new tools, but rather better quality 'vintage' tools that we are recommissioning). We got a very cheap Charnwood lathe yesterday which we hope will be adequate for small ornaments and bowls, certainly a step down from the lovely Union Graduate we have been practising on at school!
Just need a bandsaw and then we should have enough for us to start making some things to sell, then maybe then the dream of a thicknesser will come true...
