Hi Mark.
That's interesting about the Ford engine. I know that this is the same in the 2 litre Transit engine and shredding of the timing belt landing up with blocking the oil pick up pipe and wreaking the engine. It's a fairly common issue allegedly.
I suppose the saving grace on mine is the fuel economy which is just hovering around 50mpg with a mix of local and longer runs.
