OT, but mentioning the Rigol reminded me that I hadn't got around to enabling the various options (that were extra cost when I bought mine, but given away for free now) and the 100MHz bandwidth. The procedure was pretty painless - just a case of typing the serial number into one of the online key generators, then entering the key into the 'scope. To be honest, I still had 11 hours of the free trial available as I don't use the 'scope a huge amount. I was also a bit behind with the firmware, but updating that is similarly painless (just put the file on a memory stick). Since upgrading the bandwidth, it now says it's a DS1104Z on the system info screen! I haven't yet tested it to see what difference it makes, but we did some tests at work a few years back, and they do work up to several hundred MHz - obviously uncalibrated, but still impressive... IIRC, it wasn't far out at 100MHz in the pre-hacked condition.
Not saying it's good practice (for the benefit of less experienced readers), but floating a Rigol is a lot easier than a "traditional" 'scope, given that it's wrapped in plastic - you've only got to avoid touching the BNC sockets (which can be covered with insulating covers) and the little test tags on the right.
