I was there from 74-77 (Electronics) and 77-81 as a postgrad. So we definitely overlapped.

Those HP35's were probably knackered by 76 though - they got serious heavy use, when the alternative was punched card programming of the ICL mainframe, or the arcane language used on the Electronics Department Modcomp IV.
