Granted, some amplifier topologies don't like high-impedance loads. But, I'd suggest this amplifier isn't one of them - almost certainly, it'll be a complementary (or quasi-complementary) emitter-follower output, which would be OK.
Connect in series, as Amie suggests, for indoor use at home. Connect in parallel for a real gig - and you'll have 2.67Ω rather than 4Ω total load. Output transistors will work a bit harder but are unlikely to suffer - HH amplifiers are fairly tough. Or in the parallel mode, you can always add a 4Ω (or 3.9Ω) 50W resistor in series with the 4Ω speaker, total acoustic output would only be 1.25db down!
