I seem to remember a rubber belt drive too. A ceiling mounted reflector stirrer is actually better than a turntable because it scatters energy all over the cavity, a turntable does nothing for the corners and effectively the center goes nowhere!
I used to get many similar models with the bearing bush worn away on one side due to the side thrust from the belt, just used to turn the bush 180 degrees.
