For some reason, the generator engine is still being referred to as a Perkins, it is not, it is a Ford. I know that there was some confusion in the original CVA advert. My feeling is that the generator may have originally been fitted with a Perkins engine. The present Ford engine is a later replacement as, from viewing the photographs, it is a version introduced in the 1970s. This series of Ford engines ran for around forty years. This engine appears to be fitted with a special governor control so it may sense the generator frequency for more accurate speed/frquency control.
