I gave up drinking years ago!. There's what looks like a wire wound resistor on the transformer mounted on the speaker, the windings look a mess, when prodded with a screw driver there's a crack-puff of smoke and a thump from the speaker. If it is a resister could I replace it with a carbon one? if I could find out it's rating?.
