I wonder how many otherwise good, sooty valves have been thrown out.
The thing is they still leak. Even lifting pin 4 isn't a total cure. I've seen many with positive grid 1 volts upsetting the bias.
10P13s are hard to find as it is and when used as a frame output there is no direct equivalent for vintage TVs a UL41 or 44 will work but linearity often cannot be corrected, so it's now a shift from those that collect DAC90As and us with 405 Line TVs. My personal belief is to fit a UL84 and rebase the holder, these are very reliable valves and in more plentiful supply.
We don't want the radio collectors pinching our TV valves
