Agreed that it's "possible" the original valve is in use. I merely pointed out the later ones don't have that problem. Re the bypass cap any DAC90A I've done all sound muffled due to the fitment of a 3000pf cap, I normally fit a 1000pf instead to brighten up the audio. I don't think it's a typo as the sets I have done have the 3000pf from the factory.
