I have a cheap digital microscope branded "Andonstar". ISTR it cost about £30. I has a small universal stand. Haven't used it much but it seems pretty good. I forget what program I use on the PC (probably not the one supplied with it) but it can do snapshots and video recordings. As Trevor says, there is a delay but it's not too bad. I've not tried doing SMD work with it.
