Jeffrey has pretty much nailed it.
An item will get attention if found to be hazardous to health but that’s about it. (I’ve this week received a recall notice from B&Q about an electrical heater. I’m not surprised. Two I have bought from other major outlets in recent times are appalling in operation and I wouldn’t dare leave them unattended.)
As for the rest of the issues, no one’s going to bother as it affects no one but a few hobbyists. Joe Public doesn’t know and cares even less. In the great scheme of things and all the issues we face today it’s near the bottom of a mountain high pile.
AM capable radios are disappearing at a rapid rate as are AM stations. (Closure of another four transmitters announced this week.)
LF, MF and HF are fast becoming the steam railway of radio communications: for a few enthusiasts who enjoy a bit of notstalgia.
