I was qualified MN radio officer from 1960 (aged 16) to late 1992 serving in 19 ships including colliers, iron ore carriers, general cargo ships,Union-Castle passenger liners, and the final 13 year in the two famous passenger liners RMS St Helena (I) and RMS St Helena (II). I have built over 250 models of ships in the past 28 years since I left the sea, but am slowing down quite a lot (age 76). Not because I can't build them any more, but I am not as keen as I once was, and have other interests.
