Wood and Metal Work

I suppose you could call this a combination of wood and metal work.     It is completely hand-built by myself, NOT from a kit.    I used anything that lay around, wood, brass, plastic etc.   Once-upon-a-time, I sailed in ships like this,         ...snipped.....             for a simpler and more relaxed life of writing and model shipbuilding with a bit of vintage radio thrown in (valves only).    Even that has had its day now, and virtually no-one seems to be able build anything if it is not in kit form, and even books seem to be becoming obsolete!

Hello Bob, that is a very fine piece of work there and it does you proud.

I hope that the skill sets are not becoming obsolete, I could never do models myself.  I never had the patience to do the small intricate work such as shown in your model.  So built something I could sit in, not available as a kit, but plans in a book.
   

Perhaps the younger generation will get the idea at some point, we can but live in hope.
