In 1992 I drove from Kilmarnock to Saint-Raphaël in France with three kids, the youngest was two and my wife in a Skoda Favorit.
I only made one mistake in Lyons. The trip down took in Switzerland, and a trip into Italy and also a stop off in Chamonix. The return was using the autoroutes which we did in one go of 24 hours. All done with forward planning.
