How about (for a CW receiver), rod pentode front end as masthead amplifier, acorn frequency changer, octal IF amplifier, clockwork magnetic detector, germanium transistor post-detector amplifier, micro controller (or raspberry pi) decoding to alphanumeric characters, and vacuum-fluorescent character display?
