Yes! tactile is hard to put a value on, you either feel it or you dont 
. Some of my Japanese lacquer ware is the same.
Talking books another oddity to me is the value of first editions. Makes no difference to the read but they can fetch thousands. Actually you had better not read it as that is sure to devalue it in the eyes of those collectors. Have a feel that its about investment rather like the crazy art market.
