Hi Steve, It's interesting that you refer to the 704 as a first generation set. I know that David B. thinks that the mysterious prototype without any branding could be the prototype of the 704 & 903 and it certainly had very similar veneering to the earliest 901s and what looks like the same superhet receiver as the 704/903.





I think you are right and I should add them to my First Gen. sets.

Do you know what date the 704/903 were first put on sale?
