Totally off topic but "my" museum has now been renamed. The Geffrye Museum is now called Museum of the Home. Lovely place and well worth visiting when it re-opens.

Contrary to my previous statements there are some real life physical phenomena that may correctly be described as digital. The quantum hall effect comes to mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_Hall_effect But as soon as quantum mechanics are involved, physical interpretation is a very hairy subject indeed. The disagreements over different quantum theory interpretations make the big-endian/little-endian arguments (whether in computer science or Gulliver) seem very minor.
