What I have observed is the actual filament voltage rises with higher HT current, obvious to be fair when using a battery and series resistor but in this project the filamentry volts remain the same as I'm using a stabilised supply for filaments which is set for 1.05v.
The spec I believe for most rod pentodes is 0.9v minimum but yes they do operate below that level.
