The lack of sharpness I believe is caused by all those long additional leads up to the CRT.
About three years ago I experimented with the very MW6 - 2 I used today as I thought I'd make a tiny TV with it. With just 3kv EHT I got results, but with 6kv it's really bright and the phones camera makes the picture look a bit flat as if the video is overloading, by eye is not like that.
I'd actually like to get on with that project now I know the CRT can give a very bright and focused picture at 6kv. Might do a line and frame output with Rod Pentode.
