Looks like a project! Look forward to seeing the progress reports. One day I suppose I'll get round to my B16T. They give lovely pictures when working well. The BBC used the electrically identical D16T console model as a video monitor. A lot cheaper than a professional video monitor at the time. Earthed chassis made it easy to provide a video input. The photo shows a D16T being used literally in the field.
MIght be worth giving the mains transformer a few watts through the windings. WIll dry it out better than any external heat. Possibly connect the primary and any HT/EHT secondaries in series to give even warmth.
For those who don't know the set, it was the first new TV marketed after WW2. A lot of it was new technology, based on Pye's wartime experience and availability of the EF50. One old fashioned aspect is the nicely lethal mains derived EHT. Pye's last model before they used flyback EHT on the B18T. In fact flyback EHT and energy recovery were invented by Blumlein in the 1930s but not used until the B18T.
Pye chronology here: http://www.thevalvepage.com/tvmanu/pye/body_pye.htm Further down the page there's a link to a Wireless World article about the set. The article can also be found on page 49 of the PDF here: https://worldradiohistory.com/UK/Wireles...946-12.pdf Trader sheet 894 gives circuits etc.
Good luck with the restoration!
