The only oddities I know of in the UK network are some residual bits of 2 phase. Scott connected transformers are used to interface back to 3 phase.

Traction systems for railways and trams are either single phase or DC, derived locally as required. AFAIK we don't have any 16.67Hz traction systems here.
Otherwise it's Y (also known as star) connection (4 wire with neutral) at low voltage with delta (3 wire, no neutral) at higher voltages.
