I looked up the specs for the CK5840 and wow the samples certainly were given a lot of abuse. I'm not deliberately trying to make them fail but really to prove they are an amazing way for us to use in projects and of course for new comers to experiment with valves that can run on lower and safer HT voltages.
What Michael Watterson, Joe Sousa and others have done is very commendable. The Russian Rod Pentodes are still cheap enough and available, hopefully after Covid-19 supplies may even be better.
