I was always skip surfing at the local electricians, fave items being cfl's they yield a nice little HF choke that can be put to use in filters or power supplies.
I recently found six new but faulty par 38 led lamps that have a flat PCB loaded with water clear white LEDs. The LEDs all worked OK but the PS was faulty in each, and the owner of the shop said I could have them. I've an off grid lighting project planned for the near future, (stables) and instead of buying led light fittings I'm going to adapt the LED pcb's to run from a PV panel charged battery.
Jeffrey.... I was shown a photo once of a fish and chip shop called, "Sam and Ella's Plaice" I wondered if their speciality was salmonella?
