I've been in restaurants with lots of LED string bulbs and not yet noticed the flicker. I'm suprised since I'm fairly sensitive to flicker. The flicker will be worse than GLS bulbs because there's no thermal mass of a filament to smooth the light output. Just the persistence of the phosphor.
I must try seeing them in my peripheral vision. I can see a lot of flicker from conventional fluorescents and 50Hz monitors by doing this.
