Dipole antenna construction

Mike, you don't mention the length of the matching section: between the horizontal legs of the dipole and the feeder. I believe that this length is critical and must be vertical. For this type of aerial, I also understand that the ATU needs a very wide range. I am fortunate to have the space for a 40m long wire but do find aerial design quite fascinating.
