Do you really want W10? With all its bloatware, adware, updates that bork things etc. I'm sure that it can be deployed properly (Nick will know about this) but an ordinary home install won't do that.
Do yourself a favour and move to Linux. I'm going to be using Linux Mint Cinnamon. If I need Windows programs that won't run under WINE then they'll be an XP virtual machine. You could put your W7 licenced copy in a VM.
You can dip a toe into Linux by either runnng it live from a USB stick or alongside Windows by making a dual boot system.
