Can't say I'm much impressed with what gets transmitted using the medium though....

For which I'm eternally grateful!   Otherwise I'd be taking a real interest, winding LOPT's, tweaking gated AGC systems, making EHT regulators, adding clamp diodes... Generally taking precious time away from other electronics stuff! Luckily, I don't, because I've no interest in the final article!

That's not to undermine the superb work the TV pioneers have done, of course, which has had so many spin-offs that the world would be a much poorer place without them. And JLB is often run-down, but he achieved so much, with his jam-making, his bedsocks, and his TV, that he created the environment for people like ADB to flourish.
