I built my system a few years ago now and found it very rewarding selecting well rated components, it uses an 256G SSD and would boot in 7 seconds although it takes around 25 now. Water cooled CPU with radiator on rear it runs very quietly.
I also have a 1Tb hard drive but have installed it in a bay that allows it to be plugged in and out of the case and would definitely fit one to a new build.
