In a way we are talking like the replacing of normal mains tungsten lighting with LED. Of course it is possible, just working the ideal setup / circuit (which may include optical filtering of sorts). I think you have the feel of things for original equipment Mike, at least for present. It's seldom I need things like scale lights but over the years have also tended to collect easily storeable lights so may have whatever I need. Interestingly the only bi-directional LED I have, I have never used. So much potential but a bit of a white elephant.
