Swapping over unused pins is what I'm going to do, Sam. Tracy tthe valve holder is the original fitted by Bush probaly 70 years ago, but I'll try a little lubricant. Thanks for the suggestion. What may have happened of course is that, when the terminal end of the pimn snapped off, it left the bit where (usually) the pin is twisted to stop it from pulling out.
