Nevertheless, the problem is an adobe installed .dot file in a path SOMEWHERE that Office reads on start up
Try Search *.dot on each drive. Much easier in Standard Search on XP than Vista/Win7/Win8/Win10 Desktop search using indexing which is a bit broken. You'll need to fiddle with Search advance settings to get to search properly.
Your file also opens in KATE text editor fine, though I can't see how to see in LibreOffice Writer or in KATE what encoding the file is. The default text file encoding is set by your regional settings, not. SilentRunners.
KATE = KDE Advanced Text Editor, which is sort of like Notepad++, the best multi-tab text editor on Windows. Both can highlight Verilog or VDHL syntax, CSS, XML or any programming language. I used notepad++ on WINE on Linux about 2 years till I figured out how to get KATE working on Linux Mint + Mate Desktop (the Standard package manager doesn't install some icons & libraries needed, apparently a mistake by the KATE team).
