A few quick photos of the case now its had a wash and brush up. Reassembly was a little fraught, the 4 corner studs didn't want to all go through the steel chassis at the same time, had to file the holes a bit. Maybe the case has changed shape slightly over the years.
The chassis was completely loose in the cabinet when I got it.
Its working beautifully, I did twiddle the aerial coils and trimmers and got a very slight improvement. Its quite sensitive, getting several stations around the 200m mark.
Short wave is fair but I have only tried it during daylight and the workshop aerial is nought but a bit of wire up the wall.
Overall well worth the little effort to sort it out.
