Do you have a Murphy A146C console radio? I cannot find AD146 as a Murphy set. A146C sheet is available from the many sources and forums on the net.
If so the rectifier is or was a UU6 for which there are many substitutes. The UU6 was not a very good valve, it suffers from breaking down. The National Valve Museum on the net will give you a list of equivalents.
If you decide to use silicon diodes instead please use a series resistor to correct the HT voltage. The switch on surge with diodes is not advantageous to the rest of the set. The wax capacitor on the grid of the output valve will require changing PDQ.
