Further to the above, having looked at a You Tube video on the deck, the RS-X990 does appear to have a built-in mains Transformer. The Mains lead supplied with it has a 3-pin plug intended to be connected to an IEC outlet on an amplifier or receiver, but it can be plugged into a mains socket if a suitable plug is fitted, so it should be usable with a Sony amplifier.
