Waking up an old thread...
This problem has finally been resolved. Anyone who is still interested in this can read all the details on UKVRRR if they haven't already. The short version is that OpenReach fixed a fault on their side of things. Luckily, at no cost to the OP, apart from the many months of sub-standard service.
