Can you slow down the internet?

These days fibre (FTTC) isn't much more expensive than ordinary ADSL. Fibre also usually gives more consistent performance. My gut feeling is to go for an entry level fibre deal. What used to be known as "up to 40Mb/s". For example:

Most of us don't really need anything faster than that.
