Hi.
Plenty of rear engine cars with an electronic rev counter including the 1971 Skoda 110R. Neither the Imp, Imp Sport or Singer Chamois Sport came with a rev counter as standard though. A mechanical rev counter in a rear engined car was a pain to do.
I used to snaffle the Rev counters from Skoda Estelles, a very accurate Tacho and the right size to fit into many cars. https://youtu.be/lBbsDIAi3UY
