I've now added the little board to the old Crystal set (less the toroid matching coils) and the 1.2v battery, I've also found that adding a 680pf cap and a 1K pot in series connected between the drain and source connections of the EPAD I can adjust the reaction, this has made the set much more controllable. In fact I have gone to 9v with good success, this is a very simple way to make a regenerative set, there's bags of drive for phones and sufficient for an old horn so long as the room is quiet.
It's been quite an interesting little project. I'll sign off from this now as I think its run its course.
